Sleep Apnea testing

How It Works

Peak Sleep conducts Level 3 sleep studies, meaning that we provide you with the testing device for you to take home overnight. The device records your oxygen levels, heart rate, airflow, snoring among other things, all of which will determine whether you have Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) or not and if so, its severity.

You can be referred by your family doctor to us for a FREE take-home overnight sleep study, or you can phone and walk-in to one of our locations and ask to be tested. A referral is not mandatory but is preferred. Once you are welcomed in, we will instruct you on how to set up and use the device. An instruction sheet will also be sent home with you so you can follow the steps. A device consists of several sensors, a small nasal tube to monitor breathing, a chest belt, and a finger sensor.

Once the test is finished, you are asked to return the device the following day, after which we will review the results and discuss options with you. If you are diagnosed with OSA we offer CPAP therapy as the most effective treatment. You are able to trial CPAP machines and masks with us, with extended trials available. If you decide to go ahead with the therapy, you may purchase directly from us. Depending on your health coverage, the expense of a CPAP machine is covered. To learn more about CPAP therapy, visit our CPAP page or call us to learn more.
